Romanized Chinese “qigong” sounds
like [ch’i kung] or chee

To understand the definition of Chi Kung
one must first understand the definition of Chi.
Chi or ki (pronounced like "chee") can be defined in many terms like
Prana, Aether, Life Force Energy, etc. For easy understanding it is
"the circulating life energy that is inherent in all things".
Kung (or Kung Fu) is defined as "learned skill", or "hard work".
So Chi Kung means a multiple of terms like "energy cultivation",
or "energy work" and practicing with the breath, etc.

Chi Kung specifically addresses issues of
health and well-being by building the internal strength of
your body, mind and spirit.
Our strength--physical,
mental and emotional--comes from the core of our being. As
this core is strengthened over time, a deeper strength of
self emerges.
The practice of Chi Kung takes the pure and
absolute strength of who we are to every cell of our body
and every circumstance of our life-- allowing favorable
outcomes to occur.
